Biological Safety Cabinet Certifications

It is important to ensure that a BSC is certified when it is initially installed, annually, and when it is relocated. Testing is performed in accordance with NSF/ANSI 49-2002 and/or CETA (Controlled Environmental Testing Association) standards. We are qualified and well equipped with the latest technology to properly repair, certify, and commission all biological safety cabinets. Raeyco will provide a full certification report and certification sticker affixed to the front of each BSC.

Primary Tests Included:

  • Downflow velocity profile test
  • Inflow velocity test
  • Airflow smoke pattern test
  • HEPA filter leak test
  • Cabinet integrity test (A1 cabinets only)
  • Site installation assessment tests (includes alarm functions, blower interlock and exhaust system performance)

Fume Hoods and Laminar Flow Hoods

Fume Hoods are found in almost all labs working with various chemicals. Laminar Flow Hoods provide a sterile working environment for product protection. Testing is performed upon initial installation, annually and if relocated. Raeyco will provide a full certification report and certification sticker affixed to the front of each fume hood or flow hood.

Fume Hood Testing Includes:

  • Face Velocity test
  • Sash operation
  • Baffle operation
  • Alarm
  • Exhaust ducts (ensure they are under negative pressure)

Flow Hood Testing Includes:

  • HEPA filter integrity test
  • Air flow readings across the work plane to ensure laminar flow
  • Back streaming tests to ensure that non filtered air is not getting into the sterile work zone

Clean Room Certifications

Raeyco employs state of the art equipment for its clean room testing, certification, and documentation. We will customize reporting according to the user’s requirements, and abide by facility guidelines for technician SOP training and clean room protocols. Raeyco certifies clean rooms to the latest ISO, USP 797 and NAPRA standards.

Testing Includes:

  • Supply and/or exhaust air flows (FPM/CFM)
  • Room volume, air change rates
  • Room pressures
  • Temperature & relative humidity readings & barometric pressure
  • Airborne nonviable particle count
